The dos and don’ts of skip hire
We try our hardest to process and recycle as much waste as we can, but some items require very specialist services to enable them to be disposed of.
The following guide will help you understand what can and what can’t be disposed of in one of our skips.
Let’s start off with some good news!
This is what you can put in a skip:
- General waste – the following waste types can be put in a general waste skip: bricks, tiles, concrete, ceramics, soil, clays, sub-soil, top-soil, hardcore mix (less than 10% tarmac), plastics, rubbish, wood, vegetation and paint tins if washed out.
These are some things we simply can’t process and can’t be put in our skips:
- TV’s or monitors
- Florescent tubing
- Oil or oil containers
- Due to weight restrictions, heavy waste can not be placed in large quantities in the larger skips (12 yards and over).
If you need to dispose of any of the items listed above, then please call first before booking a skip and we will do our best to advise you on the best options.
If you still aren’t sure and would like us to help you make the right choice, please call us on 01502 71 51 46 or use the form below to get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to help.
